Luxury & Fashion Production in India.
We work with global fashion and luxury houses — producing runway shows, brand films, campaigns and live broadcast across India and the GCC.
Dior Pre-Fall 2023 — Gateway of Mumbai
India is the fastest-growing luxury market in the world. Every major house is turning toward it. Very few are arriving with the right partner. The difference between a production that feels native to India and one that merely visits it is almost always decided before the first frame is shot.
We are based in Mumbai — not parachuted in. We have been producing for global brands in India long enough to know which locations require permits three months in advance, which cities have the right crews, and how to move equipment across three states without losing a day. That knowledge is not instinct. It is time.
Our creative foundation is in documentary cinema — Romanian cinema, which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes four times in eight years. Not Cannes Lions. Cannes. That rigour shapes every frame we produce. Fashion is storytelling. We treat it accordingly.
The first Dior show
ever held in India.
Maria Grazia Chiuri brought Dior's Pre-Fall collection to the Gateway of Mumbai — the house's first ever runway show on Indian soil. The front row: Virat Kohli, Isha Ambani, Freida Pinto, Rekha. The global press was watching. The show was streaming live to international audiences.
Workbox handled the complete production — live broadcast, cinematic runway capture, the documentary film, BTS content, and three-city logistics across Mumbai, Udaipur and Jaipur. There was no second take. Nothing failed.
It remains the reference point for luxury production in India.
Our Position
We are not the largest studio.
We are the most specific one — for India.
Workbox is a creative production company based in Mumbai and Bucharest. We work exclusively with global fashion and luxury brands — producing runway shows, brand documentaries, seasonal campaigns, and live broadcast.
We take on a small number of projects each year. Not because we can't scale — but because we believe the work demands it. The houses we work with are not looking for volume. They are looking for a partner that understands the brief the way they do, executes it with the same care, and never mistakes efficiency for excellence.
If that sounds like what you need, we would like to hear from you early.
The creative director
is on the ground.
In most productions, there is a gap between the person who approves the work and the person who makes it. The brief gets translated, reinterpreted, diluted. By the time it reaches the crew on location, something has been lost.
At Workbox, the creative partner you speak to in pre-production is the same person directing on the day. There is no handoff. The vision that gets approved is the vision that gets made.
For houses that have spent decades building a visual language, that continuity is not a small thing.
India rewards
the ones who know it.
There is a version of India that appears in fashion campaigns — beautiful, iconic, familiar. Hawa Mahal at golden hour. Udaipur at dusk. We can produce those. We have.
But the most interesting work we've done here has been the kind that goes somewhere less expected. The North Sails campaign in Mumbai's markets. The Dior documentary that showed India not as backdrop, but as character.
The brands that leave an impression in India are the ones that arrived curious rather than certain. We are better placed to help those houses than anyone.
Shot in the streets.
Not in a studio
dressed to look like one.
North Sails came to us with a sustainability campaign that needed to feel real. Not staged-real. Actually real. We took them to Mumbai — its autorickshaws, its markets, its landfills — and let the city do what it does to a camera.
The result was a documentary series and global campaign that earned its audience. People chose to watch it. That is the only metric that matters.
Planning India.
Talk to us first.
The productions that go well in India are almost always the ones where the right conversations happened early — before the brief was locked, before the scout was booked, before assumptions hardened into decisions.
We are not pitching for every project. We are looking for the houses that want India done properly, and are willing to involve a production partner early enough to make that possible. If that's you, we'd like to meet.
