Basil studied Media in Bochum, Germany and graduated in Business and Management of Entertainment from UCLA Los Angeles, California.
After stints as producer and editor for German television he moved to New York City to work as an editor and post-production supervisor on ads for clients including Coca Cola and on music videos for artists such as The B52s, Randy Crawford, and Mariah Carey.
Basil’s first ad campaign for Journal Frankfurt (as director-producer) got him short-listed at the Art Directors Club of Germany, Epica France, The New York Festivals, and won him top honors at The London International Advertising Awards.
To date he has directed (and in part produced) more than 200 television ads and media projects in thirty countries worldwide for clients including Sony, Visa, Pepsico, Samsung, Canon, McDonalds, and Coca Cola.
Today, Basil resides in both the USA and Germany and equally splits his time between both homes.
